US Rte. 30 from Dauberman Road to IL Rte. 47, Sugar Grove, IL .
Completed Crash Analysis Report for a section of US Rte. 30 from Dauberman Road to IL Rte. 47. Data analyzed for the report was for the five-year period from 2011 to 2015. Report included roadway segments analysis and intersection analysis, along with recommendations for reducing the total number of crashes.

I-74 outside of Champaign-Urbana, IL.
Completed Crash Analysis Report for a section of Interstate 74 outside of Champaign-Urbana. Data analyzed for the report was for the five-year period from 2013 to 2017. Report was part of a Phase I study for repair and rehabilitation to two bridges on I-74.

Phase I Engineering for Various Traffic Studies, Various Routes, Various Counties, Region One/District One – Job No. P-91-592-10 – PTB 158/Item 12
Studied traffic count data, crash data, and related study correspondence for more than 100 intersections and corridors including approximately 50 crash analyses, 50 traffic signal warrant studies, 25 intersection capacity analyses and 5 corridor studies. For safety improvement projects a cost estimate and benefit-cost analysis were performed to determine project eligibility for the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP).

IL 29 Over Lick Creek, Tazewell County, IDOT-Dist 4
Project Development Report and study of approximately 1.0 mile of 5-lane arterial highway in rural area. The proposed improvements consist of removal and replacement of existing structure over Lick Creek, geometric study, pavement reconstruction, drainage and Right-of- Way needs to improve safety and match proposed improvements north and south of the project.

Tri-State Tollway (Buckley to Grand Ave) Tollway
AMES provided engineering design services for the preparation of Barrier Analysis Report for the reconstruction of 5.5 miles NB and SB lanes.

CIVIL ENGINEERING PHASE II EXPERIENCE

IDOT – District 1 – Bureau of Local Roads
AMES provided Civil Engineering support staff to the Bureau of Local Roads. Duties of our Engineers and Technical staff have included reviewing plans, providing technical guidance in coordination, evaluation, and approval of engineering design and environment plans and their letting for construction on State and Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) programs for City of Chicago, Cook County and Cool County Townships; reviewing reimbursement requests from Municipalities and Local Agencies for compliance with IDOT, FHWA and BLRS Standards and forwarding to Springfield for payment; keeping logs of all invoices and payments; reviewing reimbursement requests from CDOT and Local Agencies for compliance with IDOT, FHWA and BLRS Standards and forwarding to Springfield for payment. Keep logs of all invoice requests and payments; and attending weekly co-location meetings with CDOT to discuss strategies for managing deficient invoices/projects.

Reagan Memorial Tollway, Illinois Route 47 Interchange, M.P. 109.3
AMES scope of work included the design of the exit and entrance ramps and exit/entrance lanes along the mainline. PS&E services included the following work: Designed horizontal and vertical geometry for mainline freeway and ramps in conformance with the latest Tollway design standards. Existing deficiencies related to the design criteria including horizontal ramp radii, super-elevation etc. were corrected. Vertical geometry was developed to accommodate the Tollway and AASHTO requirements for stopping sight distances, drainage and other design parameters. Grading plans were prepared for the ramps, gore and mainline. Any roll-over corrections were incorporated to comply with the design guidelines. The ramp cross-sections and typical sections were developed based on the pavement design criteria and guidelines. A Tollway maintenance yard entrance was designed to accommodate sight distance requirements and vehicle turning movements to accommodate the design vehicle. Geometric plans at IllinoisRoute 47 intersections with ramps were designed and details were developed to incorporate information consistent with constructability, maintenance and the design requirements as
provided by the Tollway and IOT.

Illinois State Toll Highway Authority – RR-16-9197, Design Upon Request – Systemwide – PSB 17-2/Item 9
AMES performed Phase II engineering services of barrier warrant study (Levels 0, 1 and 3) for freeways, ramps and local roads; PCC and HMA pavement design, parking lot lighting photometrics and electrical engineering, and local roads’ horizontal and vertical geometry; plans, specifications and estimates for roadside barriers along mainline freeway, freeway ramps and local roads; parking lot lighting, and local roads plan and profile. Performed QC/QA as Quality Representative (QR) for civil studies – drainage studies for enclosed and open drainage and stormwater modelling for a stormwater detention facility; plans, specifications and estimates – site plans, removal plans, grading and surface and sub-surface drainage plans, soil erosion and sediment control plans, utility coordination, pavement marking and signage plans, and MOT plans. QR work also included external audits of subconsultants, updates to the CQP, and an annual ISTHA audit.

Elgin O’Hare Western Access (West of Arlington Heights Rd to Lively Blvd, Tollway
The Project consisted of one and six tenths miles of 6-lane controlled access freeway (EB and WB) with two (2) interchanges and seven (7) bridges. Work under this contract included new six lanes mainline, ramp pavement, bridge construction and frontage road reconstruction.The scope of work included Phase II preparation of contract-plans, specification and estimate (PS&E). AEI’s scope of work included design of all overhead and ground mounted signs. During the design phase the Authority requested removal of overhead bridge mounted signs at Mittel Road due to aesthetics. AMES performed the study of the roadway design taking into account locations of the bridges, interchanges and other immovable structures to place the impacted sign trusses in both the EB and WB directions. Sight distances and other design criteria were considered during the design to recommend the new locations of the impacted trusses. In addition, work involved recommended changes to the horizontal geometry to accommodate traffic (temporary condition until next contract was constructed) to match roadway geometry at project terminus and coordination with temporary and permanent signing.

AMES provided Phase II engineering design services for the preparation of 2 miles of proposed signing including Ground Mounted and Overhead Signing; Pavement Marking; Lighting; Traffic Signals.

Regan Memorial Tollway, Illinois Route 47 Interchange, M.P. 109.3

I-294/I-80 (Tri-State) MP 0.0 to MP 3.6, Tollway
Three and six-tenths (3.6) miles of 6-lane controlled access interstate freeway with two (2) interchanges and six (6) bridges. The Scope of work for approximately 1.0 mile of freeway involved the preparation of Phase II Plans, Specifications and Estimate. The work included Typical Sections; Existing and Proposed Roadway Plans, Pavement Jointing Plans, Pavement Elevation Plans; Drainage Plans, Erosion Control Plans; Safety Analyses including Level III utilizing RSAP Program and Signing, Pavement Marking Plans.

Bishop Ford Freeway over CMStP&P RR, IDOT, Dist #1
This project consisted of Phase II Engineering Services for preparation of Final Plans, Specifications and Estimate (PS&E) for 1.0 mile of freeway design for total reconstruction of northbound and southbound lanes, removal of existing bridge structures and replacement with a single box culvert. The work included Typical Sections, Schedules, Alignment Plan; Existing and Proposed Roadway Plans, Pavement Jointing Plans, Pavement Elevation Plans; Drainage Plans, Erosion Control Plans; Maintenance of Traffic Plans, Utility Plans, Signing; and Structural plans for box culvert.

McKinley Bridge over Mississippi River, IDOT, Dist# 9
This project consisted of Phase II Engineering Services for preparation of Final Plans, Specifications and Estimate (PS&E) for 1.5 miles of McKinley Bridge reconstruction. The scope of work consisted of design of Horizontal and vertical alignment and geometry; Drainage, Erosion Control; Traffic control and Staging; and Pavement marking and guardrail rehabilitation.

Kennedy Expressway: Various Bridges, IDOT, Dist #1:
This project involved the Phase II design services for structure improvements on Higgins Road/Oriole Avenue, Ainslie Street, Natoma Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue bridges over the Kennedy Expressway. The scope of work for the 4 bridges consisted of Horizontal and
vertical alignment and geometry; Drainage, Erosion Control; Traffic control and Staging; and Pavement marking and guardrail rehabilitation.

CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE

ISTHA – Bridge Inspection I-90 and I-490 (CUR I-17-4682 Task Order 7)
Construction Inspection Services on Two Bridge Projects (I-18-4695 and I-18-4694) consisting of 4 Precast Concrete Bridges on 2 Contracts along I-90 and I-490. The duties included construction observation, measuring quantities and calculating pay quantities and imputing and uploading required documentation to E-Builder.

ISTHA – Systemwide Fencing and Site Improvements-Various Location (CUR RR-14-5704 Task Order 11)
Construction Inspection Services including measuring quantities and calculating pay quantities on Systemwide Fencing and Site Improvements at 29 Toll Plazas for the Illinois Tollway Authority on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294, I-94 and I-90). Also responsible for imputing and uploading required information to E-Builder.

ISTHA – Documentation Tech Services (CUR I-17-4682 Task Order 2)
Documentation Tech and Inspection services for the I-18-4687 grading and retaining wall contract. In addition to inspection services, the duties included imputing and uploading required documentation to E-Builder.

ISTHA – (I-94), Pavement and Structural Preservation and Rehabilitation. (RR-16-4282)
Construction Inspection Services on two Highway Projects (RR-17-4341 & RR-17-4351) including construction observation, measuring quantities and calculating pay quantities on pavement repairs, bridge repairs, bridge removal/replacement and drainage repairs on Tri-State Tollway (I-94) Mile Marker 1 to 22 Mainline Pavement, bridge repair/replacement and lighting upgrades for the Illinois Tollway Authority in Lake Bluff, Illinois. The project also included imputing and uploading required documentation to E-Builder.

ISTHA – Tollway Central Administration Building, Downers Grove – North Parking Lot (CUR RR-14-5704 Task Order 3)
Construction Inspection Services for the asphalt rehabilitation and expansion of the North Parking Lot to include additional parking, new cable and LED lighting.

ISTHA – 5704 CUR – ISTHA I-355 at 75 th Street (DuPage County) (CUR RR-14-5704 Task Order 4)
The project involved providing construction Management services for Southbound lane addition. Work included inspection on mainline pavement widening, ramp pavement reconstruction, drainage system modifications, CCTV relocation, sign replacement, lighting system upgrades, landscaping and erosion/sediment control, pavement marking and maintenance of traffic.

ISTHA – I 294 Drainage improvement project (CUR RR-14-5704 Task Orders 6 & 7)
Storm sewer improvement including construction of Aggregate infiltration trench with underdrains, modifications to existing drainage system, grading, head walls, and new precast culvert work and maintenance of traffic at various locations.

ISTHA – EOWA, Elgin O’Hare Western Access (IL-390), (I-15-4655)
This Phase III Project included Roadway and Bridge construction from West Prospect Ave to East Lively Blvd. The inspection duties included installation and removal of temporary traffic signals; Installation of permanent traffic signals including underground conduit, wiring, handholes, foundations for controller cabinets, Mast arm poles, etc.; Electrical and lighting work on Tollway mainline, ramps, EB & WB plaza buildings and underpass lighting; Construction and installation of equipment, standby generators and entry and exit monotubes at EB and WB plaza building; ITS ducts for fiber optic wiring and handholes; Overhead sign structure installation; and landscaping.

IDOT District 2 – Re-surfacing IL 2 (South Main)
Construction Inspection Services for the reconstruction and resurfacing of IL 2 (South Main) from Beltline Rd to 0.4 miles north of Harrison Ave. Responsibilities for this project included inspection and documentation of pay quantities, material testing, and on-site inspection,
construction staking, and layout as required and needed, completion of documentation requirements of the work in accordance with the plans and specifications. Assisted the Resident using ICORS with the documentation required for the job diary, weekly reports, daily quantities,
field books, calculations and layout.
ISTHA – Jane Addams Memorial Tollway, Bridge Reconstruction, Higgins Road (M.P. 61.3) and Barrington Road (M.P. 62.2)
Work included Phase III engineering services for the reconstruction of Higgins Road bridge and Barrington Road bridge over the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90).The responsibilities included inspection of piling operations, electrical work, MSE walls and supervision of substructure and foundations, Concrete Structures, superstructures, parapet walls, retaining walls.

ISTHA I-294 Reconstruction and Widening Project between Cal-Sag Ave and Kedzie Ave.
The Project included two (2) miles of mainline roadway reconstruction and widening, embankment and grading work, drainage, retaining walls , and reconstruction and widening of five (5) bridges.
